JV-8 is a playable model of the Roland Jupiter-8 (1981): two VCOs per voice with cross-mod and sync, a 6 dB high-pass, a resonant 12/24 dB low-pass, two ADSRs, eight voices, split/dual layers and the arpeggiator. Under it sits an effects rack like the outboard gear these synths were recorded through: load units from the effects bank with ADD EFFECT, reorder them with ◀ ▶, and record what you play with REC. Play with the mouse, two rows of your computer keyboard (labelled on the keys), or a MIDI keyboard. Use − / + under the panel to make it bigger, then drag an empty part of the panel to look around.
